Drain Jetting and High Pressure Water Jetting
Powerful jetting that strips fat, grease, silt, scale and root growth from the pipe wall — not just punching a hole through the blockage.
Call 07427 195142 — 24/7Drain jetting sends water at high pressure through a hose and nozzle that scours fat, silt, scale and roots off the inside of the pipe, cleaning the drain back to its full width rather than just opening a gap through the blockage. For how it compares with rods, read drain jetting vs drain rodding.
Jetting cleans a drain back to its full bore. Rodding can clear a path through a blockage; jetting removes what caused it, which is why it lasts far longer.
Kitchens and food premises get the most out of jetting, because fat coats the whole pipe wall rather than sitting in one spot.

What causes it
- Fat, oil and grease build-up
- Silt, sand and grit in gullies and interceptors
- Fine root growth through joints
- Scale and sediment narrowing the bore
- Slow-running drains that never fully block
Our process
- 1
Assess
Pipe material, condition and access checked before any pressure is applied.
- 2
Jet
Correct nozzle and pressure to clean the full circumference of the pipe.
- 3
Remove
Arisings and silt cleared from chambers rather than pushed downstream.
- 4
Check
Optional CCTV afterwards to confirm the condition of the clean pipe.

FAQs
Can jetting damage my drains?
Not when the pressure and nozzle are matched to the pipe. We assess condition first, which is why we camera anything we are unsure of.
How often should commercial kitchens be jetted?
Most busy kitchens benefit from a planned clean every three to six months, depending on volume.
Is jetting better than rodding?
For fat, silt and root growth, yes — rodding clears a channel, jetting cleans the pipe.
What is a drain jetter?
A drain jetter is a pump that pushes water at high pressure through a reinforced hose to a nozzle at the far end. The nozzle has jets pointing backwards, which drive the hose forward along the pipe, and often one pointing forwards to break into a blockage. As the hose is pulled back, the rear jets scour the pipe wall all the way round. Different nozzles are used for silt, fat, roots and scale.
Jet washing drains compared with other methods
Jet washing a drain is not the same as pointing a pressure washer at a patio. A drain jetter is built to travel inside the pipe and clean it from within. Where a single obstruction needs breaking up first, drain rodding is often used before the jetter. After jetting, a camera can check the pipe is sound; if it is cracked or root-damaged, drain relining may repair it without digging.
More drain jetting questions
What is drain jetting?
It is cleaning a drain with water at high pressure through a hose and nozzle, which scours deposits off the pipe wall and flushes them away.
What is water jetting cleaning?
Using high pressure water rather than chemicals or rods to clean the inside of pipes, gullies and chambers back to their full width.
Does jetting clear tree roots?
A root-cutting nozzle can remove fine roots. The joint they came in through stays open, so a camera check shows whether it needs sealing.
