No-Dig Drain Repairs & Patch Lining

No-Dig Drain Repairs & Patch Lining in Livingston & Central Scotland

No-dig drain repairs restore damaged pipework from the inside, avoiding the cost and mess of digging up driveways, gardens and floors.

  • CIPP drain relining
  • Localised patch repairs
  • Junction and lateral repairs
  • Drain milling and preparation
  • Minimal disruption to your property
  • Long-term structural repair

How a no-dig repair works

First we survey the drain with CCTV to find the exact position and size of the defect. The pipe is then cleaned with high-pressure water jetting, and any roots or hard deposits are removed by drain milling so the repair can bond properly.

For a localised crack or open joint we install a patch repair at that point. For longer runs with several defects, CIPP relining creates a new pipe inside the old one. Junctions and laterals can be repaired the same way. When the work is finished we run the camera through again, so you can see the result.

When no-dig is the right choice

No-dig repair is ideal when the pipe sits under a driveway, patio, garden or floor you do not want dug up. It is quicker, tidier and usually cheaper than excavation. It is not suitable for every drain: if a section has completely collapsed, we will explain that and quote for excavation instead.

We work across West Lothian, Edinburgh, Falkirk, Lanarkshire and Fife from our base in Pumpherston, with no call-out charge and £5 million public liability insurance.

Patch lining or a longer liner?

The CCTV findings determine which repair makes sense. A crack or open joint at one point can be addressed with a localised patch rather than lining the entire run. Several defects along a longer section may call for CIPP relining. We use the camera to locate the damage first, then explain which section needs work instead of treating every damaged drain as the same job.

Cleaning and preparation matter before either option: high-pressure jetting clears the pipe, while milling deals with roots or hard deposits where needed. A further camera inspection after installation lets you see the repaired section. If the survey shows a fully collapsed section, lining is not the answer; we can explain the excavation and replacement option instead. Call us about the footage or request a quote for the repair.

What is trenchless drain repair?

Trenchless drain repair, also called no-dig pipe repair, fixes a damaged drain from inside the pipe instead of opening a trench to reach it. Everything goes in through an existing inspection chamber: the camera to find the defect, the jetting hose to clean the pipe, and the liner that seals it. The ground above, whether it is a lawn, a monoblock drive or a kitchen floor, stays where it is.

How a drain repair patch works

A patch is a short sleeve of glass fibre matting soaked in resin, wrapped around an inflatable packer. The packer is pushed along the drain to the measured position of the crack or open joint, inflated so the patch presses tight against the pipe wall, and held there while the resin cures. When the packer is deflated and pulled out, the patch stays bonded in place, sealing the defect. Where the damage runs along a longer length, drain relining covers it with one continuous liner instead.

No-dig sewer repair and who is responsible

The same methods work on private sewers and shared runs as on a single household drain. Before any repair, it helps to know whose pipe it is: the drain serving your property is usually yours, a run shared with neighbours is usually a shared responsibility, and the public sewer is Scottish Water's. A CCTV drain survey shows where the defect sits, which settles that question before you pay for anything.

No-dig repair questions

What is trenchless drain repair?

It is repairing a drain from inside the pipe through an existing chamber, using patch liners or relining, so no trench has to be dug.

Can every drain be repaired without digging?

No. A pipe that has collapsed or sagged badly has nothing sound to line, so that length has to be excavated and replaced.

Do you survey the drain before a no-dig repair?

Yes. The camera measures where each defect is, so the patch or liner is placed exactly over it, and the pipe is filmed again afterwards.

When is a no-dig repair not possible?

A liner cannot restore the route or fall of a pipe that has collapsed, sagged badly or moved too far out of alignment. The run also needs suitable access and must be cleaned so the liner can be placed against the pipe wall. A camera inspection shows whether lining is practical or excavation is needed.
