There is no call-out charge
Our price is for the work, not for turning up, and that holds at any hour of the day or night. If you are comparing quotes, check whether the other figure includes attendance, because an out of hours call-out fee can be a large part of a bill.
What pushes a job up or down
- Access: a chamber in an open driveway is quicker than one under a decked garden or inside a locked yard.
- Method: rodding a soft blockage takes minutes, jetting a fat-lined commercial run takes far longer.
- Length of run: the further the blockage sits from the nearest chamber, the more work it takes to reach.
- What the blockage is: wipes and fat behave completely differently to root mass or a collapsed section.
- How many outlets are affected: one sink is a different job to a whole building backing up.
Why the cheapest clearance can cost more
Punching a hole through a fat layer restores flow for a few weeks. Jetting the pipe back to full bore lasts. If a drain has blocked more than once in a year, paying for a proper clearance and a camera check is normally cheaper across a year than three quick visits.
When a survey is worth adding
If the same run keeps blocking, the blockage is a symptom of something in the pipe. Adding a camera check while we are on site is far cheaper than a separate visit, and it tells you whether you are facing a repair or simply a maintenance schedule.
Getting a firm price
Tell us what is affected, whether anything is overflowing and where the chambers are if you know. You are given a price before we start work, and it does not change afterwards unless you ask for extra work.

There is no call-out charge at any hour, and you are quoted before work starts.
Can you quote over the phone?
We can talk you through what is likely and what affects the price, and we give you a firm figure on site once we can see the run.
Is jetting more expensive than rodding?
Jetting takes more equipment and usually more time, but it strips the pipe rather than making a hole in the blockage, so on fat and silt it is the cheaper option over a year.
Will insurance cover a blocked drain?
Some home policies include drainage cover or accidental damage. Insurers normally want evidence of the cause, which is one reason we supply photographs and footage.
