For a blocked or broken drain in Fife, call 07427 195142. We clear blockages by jetting or rodding, find the fault with a camera, and carry out the repair ourselves, by patch lining or excavation. We come over the Queensferry Crossing from our base in Pumpherston to west and central Fife.

Clearing a blocked drain: jetting or rodding
Not every blockage needs the same tool. Rods are quick for a solid plug of paper or wipes close to a chamber. High pressure water jetting is the better choice when the pipe is lined with fat, scale or silt, or when roots have started to creep in, because it cleans the pipe wall rather than just opening a channel through the middle. We carry both, decide on the day which suits the drain, and run water through afterwards to prove it is flowing.
Repairs: camera first, then patch or dig
If a drain blocks repeatedly, something in the pipe is usually to blame: a cracked length, an open joint, roots or a section that has dropped. We put a camera through to find it, then explain the options.
Where the pipe is still in shape, a no-dig patch repair seals the defect from inside without digging up the garden. Where it has broken or collapsed, we excavate and replace the damaged length; see drain excavation repairs. Both are carried out by us, so the people who found the fault are the people who fix it.
Fife housing and its drains
The former mining towns such as Cowdenbeath and Lochgelly have long terraced streets, and many of those houses share a rear drain that runs behind the whole row. One blockage can affect several homes, and older clay pipe on those runs tends to suffer from open joints and roots.
Along the coast at Burntisland, Kinghorn and Inverkeithing there is a lot of older stone property, much of it extended and altered over the years. Extensions are often built over the original drain, which makes access and repair planning more important.
Newer estates around Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy have plastic drainage that is rarely damaged; blockages there are usually down to wipes, fat or debris rather than the pipe.
What to have ready when you call
A description of what the drain is doing helps us plan the visit: which fittings are slow, whether a chamber outside is full, and whether the problem has happened before. If you share a rear drain with the rest of the terrace, mention it, along with anything known about where the chambers are. A photo sent by WhatsApp of a full chamber or a wet patch in the garden is often more useful than a long explanation.
If you rent, tell your landlord or letting agent too, because repairs to the drain will normally be theirs to arrange.

If nothing is blocked but you want to know the condition of a drain, for example before buying a house or after a run of problems, a survey is the right starting point. Questions
Do you come over from West Lothian for a single blocked drain in Fife?
Yes. A single blocked drain is a normal job for us, and the Fife towns listed on this page are within our working area.
Can a broken drain in Fife be repaired without digging?
Often, if the pipe is cracked or has an open joint but still holds its shape. A patch lining seals it from inside. A collapsed pipe needs to be dug out and replaced.
Do you carry out the repair yourselves after finding the fault?
Yes. We survey, clear and repair, so there is no handover to another firm.
My drain is shared with the neighbours. Who pays?
A shared private drain is normally a shared cost between the properties it serves. Our camera footage shows where the problem is, which helps the neighbours agree a fair split.
Which parts of Fife do you cover?
West and central Fife, including Dunfermline, Rosyth, Inverkeithing, Cowdenbeath, Lochgelly, Kirkcaldy, Burntisland and Kinghorn. Ring with your postcode if your town is not listed.
